Atam commenced his professional career over 20 years ago in London. He is a Chartered Surveyor and since 1993 has been working on development and regeneration projects throughout the UK.
Atam’s project experience includes: Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, where one of the largest public funding investments was secured; the Scotswood EXPO project in Newcastle, which involves the development of a new community comprising 1,800 new homes with associated community facilities; and, the Science Central Masterplan at the former Scottish and Newcastle Brewery site.
Atam has provided consultancy support and property advice to the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills - Central Projects Review Group (CPRG) which approves Regional Development Agency project funding.
Atam has an extensive network of public and private sector contacts in the development and regeneration industry. He is a Design Council CABE Enabler; an Academician of the Academy of Urbanism; and a Board Member of Headingley Development Trust.
