AspinallVerdi Goes Overseas
AspinallVerdi has always worked throughout England but we have recently been commissioned in on projects in Northern Ireland and on the Isle of Man.
On the Isle of Man, AspinallVerdi has been appointed alongside IBI Taylor Young to prepare a masterplan for Central Douglas. The Isle of Man Government has recognised the importance of town and village centres in supporting the national and local economies and has established a fund to undertake physical regeneration and environmental improvement. In tandem with these environmental improvements, the Government is keen to attract investment in the Capital to support long term economic regeneration. It is intended that the Central Douglas Masterplan will kick start investment and development in the Capital. Simon Turner, Regional Director in our Manchester office will be providing market and options analysis to inform the masterplan and recommend a delivery mechanism for the development proposals.
Also Ben Aspinall is working in his capacity as Heritage Lottery appraiser and enabler to support the Inner City Building Preservation Trust in the refurbishment of Northern Counties building, Bishop Street in Derry/Londonderry. The project involves the refurbishment and conversion of a B1 Listed Building into a restaurant and boutique hotel. The building is important to the unionist people of Derry and acted as an iconic base for the business and civic leaders of the city in the 1980’s. By bringing a key icon building in the city back to life and in an inclusive way for the first time, the project will enhance the city as a whole.
Commenting on the wins, Atam Verdi said that, ‘our niche development consultancy skills are transferrable no matter where the geography’ and ‘we are pleased to support regeneration and development wherever it may be’.
