Associate Director
Prior to joining AspinallVerdi, Ed spent ten years leading an SME developer in London, where he successfully delivered over 200 residential units and numerous office spaces within mixed-use schemes. His hands-on experience includes site identification, feasibility studies, securing project funding, assessing planning viability, managing pre-construction phases, and overseeing contractor selection and management.
At AspinallVerdi, Ed collaborates closely with both public and private sector clients, unlocking development opportunities and ensuring commercial viability. His expertise encompasses viability assessments, detailed feasibility studies, and securing essential grant funding. Ed has advised on a diverse range of projects nationwide, including a significant 1,700-unit residential scheme for Dorset Council, viability and funding assessments across multiple East Yorkshire sites, and advising on two substantial 300-unit Build-to-Rent developments in Leeds and Milton Keynes.
In addition to residential projects, Ed possesses considerable experience in commercial property and is actively expanding his involvement in town centre regeneration initiatives. He has contributed significantly to the regeneration strategies for Middlesbrough Town Centre, guiding policies aimed at urban revitalisation and investment attraction. His comprehensive understanding of both private sector delivery requirements and public sector funding mechanisms positions him uniquely to bridge policy objectives with commercially achievable solutions.
In his spare time Ed volunteers as a mentor with the Leeds Youth Justice Service, helping children who have offended to rebuild their lives. Ed maintains a strong academic interest in legal theory and has authored two papers published in respected law journals.
Outside work, Ed enjoys writing, reading, outdoor swimming, a wide array of sports, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family.
