Associate Director
Prior to joining AspinallVerdi, Matthew worked for a renowned estate agency with coverage across London and the south east and has experience in the residential and commercial markets.
At AspinallVerdi, Matthew has contributed his experience towards a variety of workstreams, including financial viability assessments (site-specific and plan-wide), S106 viability reviews, property market analysis (residential and commercial), enabling development and heritage asset appraisals, funding bids (FHSF, LUF), employment land availability assessments, masterplanning and town centre regeneration and ‘Red Book’ valuations. He advises both public and private sector clients, providing evidence-based advice to support plan-making and decision-taking. Matthew has also provided representation as an Expert Witness at Planning Appeal, as well as attending Planning Committees to support applications.
Matthew leads AspinallVerdi’s working group on Mental Health and ESG, helping shape the company’s internal practices and procedures. He is an APC Councillor, supporting candidates through their structured training by hosting internal CPD sessions, providing Q&A / ‘surgery’ sessions and undertaking mock interviews. Matthew also remains in contact with Nottingham Trent University, attending their annual careers fairs and as part of their Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme.
Outside of the office, Matthew considers himself a DIY and gardening apprentice, though his successes are varied. Luckily, he has a solid plan B – exploring the consistency of London’s renowned pubs and eateries!
